The Kitronik :MOVE Motor for the BBC micro:bit is a fun introduction to robotics. Learn about motion, how to use light and sound, detecting and avoiding obstacles, and how to program the :MOVE Motor to follow a line. When used in conjunction with the micro:bit functions, the possibilities are endless. Attached to the chassis are two two-way DC motors with variable speed control. The wheels have tires and are adjusted by simply pushing on the motor shafts. Insert a BBC micro:bit into the edge connector and you are ready to program. No other assembly or tooling is required

A fun introduction to buggies and robotics

The Kitronik :MOVE Motor for the BBC micro:bit is a fun introduction to robotics. Learn about motion, how to use light and sound, detecting and avoiding obstacles, and how to program the :MOVE Motor to follow a line. When used in conjunction with the micro:bit functions, the possibilities are endless. Attached to the chassis are two two-way DC motors with variable speed control. The wheels have tires and are adjusted by simply pushing on the motor shafts. Insert a BBC micro:bit into the edge connector and you are ready to program. No other assembly or tooling is required

There are built-in battery slots for 4x AA batteries. This provides an adjustable voltage supply for the BBC micro:bit, which is fed into the edge connector. There is also a power switch to save batteries when the buggy is not in use

The :MOVE Motor can be coded using the Microsoft MakeCode editor. The manual that comes with the buggy contains more detailed instructions for using the blocks and creating a program. If you’re feeling more adventurous or like a challenge, :MOVE Motor can also be coded using Python. Also, inside the manual (found inside the box), there are some quick tutorials to get you started. There are also additional webinars and step-by-step guides for additional projects
